Today I happened upon a storage unit sale. There was a lot of stuff there! All of it was old. I got this blue jar with a zinc lid and iron wall plant thingie (how's that for a name) for $4.00! I think I'll go back tomorrow with my garage sale buddy to dig through boxes. I had my 4 year old with me today and I was so afraid he would break something. This is the plant thingie. It is metal and ugly.
I decided to give it a coat of spray paint.
I decided to give it a coat of spray paint.
I was very tempted to go to my old favorite....blue ocean. I decided to be different and use Pistachio. It is a close favorite, and I was out of blue ocean! :)
Oh my gosh! I absolutely love it! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow, love the plant thingie (my kind of language :)--great transformation. Love the mason jar, the color is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

I agree, so much better! Isn't it amazing what a little paint can do? Thanks for visiting me at my blog and saying hello.

Hope my comment went through but just in case I did it again. I love that look, just used the glaze myself and it really finished the look. What a great looking piece, that serves a purpose too. Thanks for sharing with me. Debbie

ReplyDeleteI really like the ornateness of the piece you found. It looks so pretty refinished.
ReplyDeleteI love this!!! I love how the glaze brought out the details and makes this so beautiful, great job!
ReplyDeleteThis turned out great! The glaze really added the extra touch to make it really pop. What an awesome transformation. Great job on the finishing details!
ReplyDeleteFirst, let me just say that I LOVE your blog. Seriously, you give me such inspiration! Secondly, I just refinished a vintage chair & I am wanting to do the antiquing glaze on it, but I'm a newbie to it. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. Do you apply a finishing top coat or sealant after the antiquing glaze? Or do you just do the glaze, wipe it off & be done? If you could let me know, I'd really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
